Experimenting and working creatively with different techniques is the focus of this course. For example, we will work with pastel chalk, ink, charcoal, conté and pencil. Each technique will be introduced with a story about famous artists, and in this way we will introduce icons from art history. We will also "translate" reality to the flat plane by practicing with model, still life and portrait. The focus during the lessons will be on line use, form, composition, light and dark, and of course fun in drawing. There will also be assignments where we emphasize artistic value by abstracting shapes and playing with color. Materials are included, and students will of course be guided individually!
