You have been living in the Netherlands for a while or are new here and you want to learn the basics of the Dutch language. Then Platform C in Amstelveen is the right place for you. This is a year-long course in Dutch for beginners, your starting level is A0 and you finish at A2. Together with other expats and non-native speakers from Amstelveen you actively participate in this course. Nice and close. Moreover, a few times a year we organize special activities for all Dutch speaking students.

You start by learning the basics of the Dutch language. By the end of this year-long Dutch course, you will be able to carry on conversations with neighbors, friends and colleagues. You recognize common phrases and understand and use common expressions. You can tell about yourself and your family and express yourself clearly while shopping and on public transport. This will make you feel at home in Amstelveen even faster. When registering for this year-long course, you will receive the textbook worth €48.50 for free. Under the guidance of an enthusiastic and experienced teacher you will develop your language skills to Dutch A2.

Dutch language course from A0 to A2 - The lessons

You will be assigned to a group of students of your own level. Together with your fellow students, you go through the Dutch lessons for a year. In the beginning, attention is paid to getting to know each other better, so that you can learn Dutch in a familiar environment. The interactive lessons are led by an expert teacher. After the theoretical explanations, you will actively apply them yourself and/or with the group. During the lessons you practice intensively with speaking and listening skills. At home, through online self-study, you will continue to work on your listening, reading and writing skills. This course is specially designed to improve your Dutch language skills and make you more confident in the Netherlands.

Objectives Course - learning Dutch A2

• You know what the most important words and phrases in Dutch mean.
• You have basic knowledge of Dutch grammar.
• You can have a simple conversation in Dutch.
• You will learn to introduce yourself, greet and say goodbye, make appointments, order and thank you, ask questions, give information and run errands.
• You can have simple conversations about familiar and everyday topics.
• You understand and can respond to short stories, conversations and instructions.
• You can make phone calls and solve simple problems.
• You will write simple messages and emails, such as complaints, requests and short informational texts.
• You achieve, with a minimum of 80% attendance, Dutch communication skills at level A2

Certificate A2 level

Upon successful completion of the year-long Dutch A2 course, you will receive a certificate confirming your language level and participation (minimum 80% present).

• When you purchase the book it automatically includes a code for the website. This contains many online practice materials that you can use to get started at home. This material consists of:
• (interactive) assignments to further practice vocabulary, verbs, dictation, pronunciation, grammar, reading and listening
• audio of dialogues, pronunciation, language acts, texts and vocabulary
• grammar and pronunciation videos
