Work Experience: Freelance drummer for various artists and collectives (1999-present). Drum teacher since 2002. Home studio since 2008.
I was in the third grade of high school when my little brother started drumming lessons and a big drum set came into the house. This must have been in '98. From the moment the drum kit was in the room, I couldn't stop playing it. A year later I started with drumlessons and there was no way back, I just wanted to do this.
Inside and outside of music, there are quite a few people who inspire me. Examples of drummers I like are Vinnie Colaiuta and Larnell Lewis. But I also like Aaron Sterling, and of course 'old' jazz drummers like Tony Williams. I also listen to a lot of things, that's why the list is long.
Live is live
Or in other words, if you make something happen in the moment and it doesn't go completely perfect: no problem, there's always tomorrow, but the attitude has to be that that's okay.
