Platform C
Platform C believes that art and culture should be accessible to everyone. It offers people the opportunity for personal growth and enables them to learn with and from one another. Based on this belief, Platform C, together with its partners, makes participation in art and culture possible for everyone in Amstelveen and the Amstelland region. We offer courses and activities in music, dance, languages, media, and the visual arts. There are opportunities for young children, teens, and adults: everyone is welcome at Platform C!
As of January 2027, we are seeking two members for our Supervisory Board.
The work
The Supervisory Board oversees the general course of business, the strategy, and the objectives of Platform C. The board advises the executive director, serves as his or her employer, and acts in accordance with the Culture Governance Code. The board meets an average of six times a year. The position is unpaid; the appointment is for three years, with the possibility of one reappointment.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for two members: one with a (cultural) educational background and one with a commercial/marketing background. We are looking for socially engaged, principled, and collaborative members with at least a higher professional education (HBO) level of work and thinking, as well as experience with administrative decision-making. Experience as a supervisor and a connection to Amstelveen or the region are preferred. You will contribute ideas remotely and leverage your network for Platform C. Service & Information Associate (average of 15 hours)
At the reception desk, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, students, instructors, and other stakeholders. Whether it’s a question at the desk, a phone call, or an email, you’ll ensure a warm welcome, clear information, and an appropriate solution. You’ll be part of the Operations Department.
No two days are the same. You’ll assist with a variety of tasks related to course administration, room rentals, and day-to-day operations. In addition, you’ll help with open houses, events, and other activities designed to welcome new students. You’ll work closely with colleagues from the Operations department and other teams within the organization.
You’ll be working in a dynamic environment where you’ll frequently switch between different tasks and interact with various people. Thanks to your ability to see the big picture, your flexibility, and your service-oriented attitude, you’ll ensure that everything runs smoothly and that visitors feel welcome. In short: a versatile role with plenty of variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a difference.

Piano Accompanist for the First String Orchestra
Are you an (amateur) pianist with an hour to spare on Wednesday afternoons? Platform C is looking for a pianist who would enjoy volunteering to play the First
Accompany the string orchestra during rehearsals (every other week) and at concerts.
Platform C is a leading institution with a rich tradition and history in string and orchestral education in the Netherlands. Many students have started their careers here and gone on to join our national orchestras. Would you like to contribute to the development of young talent at
Do you play the violin or cello? Then come play with us!
What are we asking for?
– You are a pianist who can read music well, with experience in ensemble playing and accompaniment.
– You are regularly available on Wednesday afternoons between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
– You are willing to do this on a volunteer basis
