Want to take accordion lessons and love klezmer, tango music or Astor Piazzolla? Then this accordion lesson is just what you are looking for! You start with simple exercises for your left and right hand. This way you will immediately learn a melody and a rhythm. After a short time you will already be playing with both hands together. Then it sounds like you have an entire orchestra in your hands. We keep building your skills, so you can make your own choices in what you want to play. This makes learning the accordion varied, challenging and above all fun.
During the lessons we work quickly towards a beautiful sounding result. Then we expand to other styles and songs. You will soon be playing folk music, Tex Mex or Rowwen Hèze. Tango music in the style of Astor Piazzolla may also come into play. After about a year you can participate in ensemble playing. That means playing together with other accordionists or different groups. At Platform C there are various ensemble playing projects. This makes making music even more enjoyable and you also learn a lot from each other.
This course is for everyone from 6 a 7 years old to 99 years old. You don't need any experience. You will learn everything during the lessons. The most important thing is that you enjoy making music.
It is best to take weekly lessons, especially if you are just starting out. You can choose lessons of 25 minutes or longer, depending on the lesson package you purchase.
In the first year you don't need to purchase anything. You can rent an accordion from the teacher. You will receive the first exercises through written assignments or copies.
To properly train your fingers, hands and arms, it is important to practice a little every day. A lot also happens in your head when you play the accordion. The more often you practice, the faster you will see progress. You get training every week, so you can practice at home and make faster progress. This makes your playing sound better and better.
The lessons are very practical. You are constantly playing. The teacher explains techniques and theory, but you apply them directly to your accordion. That way everything sticks better.
Platform C offers many opportunities to play together. There are accordion concerts every year in the Zonnestein Hall and there are ensembles that rehearse regularly. This way you will discover the power of playing together and you can further develop your solo playing.
During the lessons you will learn to play solo and know well-known St. Nicholas songs and Christmas music. You can play different styles, such as classical, tango, pop or folk music. Bach, Scarlatti or other classical composers may also pass by. The longer you play, the larger your repertoire becomes.
The teacher has been teaching accordion for many years and regularly organizes concerts, including outside the music school. This allows you to gain valuable stage experience. Many former students have a lifetime of enjoyment from their accordion, both solo and in a group. In short: you are most welcome to discover together the power and versatility of the accordion!
