In brief

This Classical Ballet course for adults at semi-advanced level is based on the Vaganova technique. In these classes you will work on posture, technique, coordination, musicality, presentation, dance quality and dance enjoyment. The combination of all these components make these classes a great way to further develop your ballet skills!

Program

What to expect.

Warm-up at the barre, concluded with a stretching exercise
Center exercises such as Adagio (balance exercises) and Allegro (jumps).
Working on a dancing combination across the diagonal (Grand pas).
The lesson ends with a bow (Reverence).

Target

This class is suitable for adults with some experience in classical ballet, or for those who want to rediscover their ballet skills and start immediately at a challenging level.

Lesson duration and number of lessons

Classes last one hour and are taught during a school year, divided into 3 blocks of 10 classes. You re-register for each block.

NOTE: The block beginning in May has 8 classes. Overpaid tuition will be refunded, upon placement.

Teaching Materials

There are no mandatory dress code. A ballet suit and tights are obviously appropriate, but leggings and a T-shirt that is not too wide are also fine. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and that your teacher has a good view of your body. Ballet shoes are recommended, however.

Working form during the course

The course is hands-on with many practice moments to master the technique.
