Singing is the basis of music. In this course, children learn as many as forty songs throughout the year, mostly based on themes such as the seasons, weather, annual festivals, animals, music or otherwise. On the basis of these songs we 'play with the music'. This can be through movement, body-percussion, games or playing on instruments such as rhythm sticks, slide eggs, drums or shell frames. In this way the basic skills of music 'beat & rhythm & melody' are experienced and developed.
Parents or guardians are not present at the lessons. Only the classes preceding an official vacation are open classes (join in!) for them.
The course will begin immediately after the summer break.
Enrollment in Playful Music is possible until March. After that it is still possible to enroll: these students will be invited for the next course year.
This course is a good preparation for classes in Preparatory Instrumental Education, Basic Music or Ballet.
