In brief

In these classical ballet classes for adults, you will learn the basics of Vaganova technique. You will work on posture, technique, coordination, musicality, presentation and of course dance fun! All in one makes it fun to take this course, challenging yourself both physically and mentally.

Program

What to expect.

  • Warm-up at the barre, concluded with a stretching exercise
  • Exercises in the middle, such as Adagio (balance exercises) and Allegro (light jumps).
  • Working on a dancing combination across the diagonal (Grand pas).
  • Closing with a Reverence (bow) as a nice conclusion to the lesson

Target

This course is for adults who have no experience with classical ballet or for whom it has been a while and want to build it up again gently.

Lesson duration and number of lessons

Classes last one hour and are taught during a school year, divided into 3 blocks of 10 classes. For each block you must re-enroll.

Teaching Materials

There are no mandatory dress code, but a ballet suit and tights are a good option. Leggings and a T-shirt that is not too wide are also fine, as long as you can move comfortably and your body is visible to the teacher. Ballet shoes are recommended.

Free participation in ensembles

Making music together is great fun and very educational. You can do that with us in one of the many ensembles! There are ensembles for different instruments, levels and compositions. Are you taking instrumental lessons at Platform C? Then participation in the ensembles is free. Your teacher will invite you to join and see what suits you best. If you are not taking lessons yet, make a choice from our lessons on offer and sign up.

Group class is a minimum of 30 minutes per week, see also our  general terms and conditions.
If you enter later in the year, course fees will be prorated once placement is final.
