Passionato Strings rehearses each spring with soloists. These are peers who play an instrument other than a stringed instrument. We have now had a fantastic rehearsal weekend at a beautiful villa in Aerdenhout. Clarinetist Aida Bahramisharif, and flutist (flute) Holleman were there. Other students of the flute teacher Laetitia Leemans also came to rehearse on Saturday. They also stayed to enjoy the barbecue that evening, organized by the parents. On Sunday there was a performance in the garden for parents family and of course Désirée Feltz. She offered us this accommodation free of charge.
Meanwhile, rehearsals are back in full swing. On June 26 at 7:30 p.m. we will give our closing season concert. On the program is Celtic and Scottish music from the highlands. We will also play music by our own violin teacher Hans Scheepers and Britten Simple symphony by the Head Group of Passionato Strings. This is part of a project offered by Laura Oomen, violinist of the Nedpho. Of course we close with lighter classical music with all participants and soloists playing along.
About Passionato Strings
Passionato Strings is Platform C's string orchestra for students aged 12 to 15. The orchestra plays the conductor's own pieces and arrangements, as well as well-known classical works for strings. Members work on repertoire, string technique, sound and vibrato and sometimes play pieces by heart. There are regular performances, for example in churches or during ensemble concerts at school.
The orchestra is conducted by Jeanny Beerkens. Everyone is welcome to come and listen and enjoy this special performance.
