In brief about DJ class for adults

Discover DJ lessons for adults at Platform C! Have you always wanted to know what a DJ does behind the turntables? Can you see yourself DJing at a party where everyone goes wild to your music, for example at a beach club during sunset? If you have a good sense of rhythm and a basic knowledge of music that you want to apply to the dance floor, then this course is for you. In 6 lessons you will learn not only how to operate a DJ set, but also how to profile yourself in the music world and score bookings.

Program

During the course you will learn:

• Selecting Tracks
• Creating setlists and playlists
• Discovering your own unique style of music
• Using effects such as reverb, echo, flanger and delay
• Scratching, creating mash-ups and remixing
• Preparing a radio appearance and live performance
• Running independently at parties and events
• Artist branding and building your artist profile
• Bringing musical structure, atmosphere and energy into your sets

Target

This course is designed for adults 18 and older. No experience is necessary; you will learn everything during the course. This is perfect for anyone who dreams of making people dance to their music, whether in a club or at a sunset beach party.

Lesson duration and number of lessons

Each class lasts 45 minutes and the total course duration is 6 weeks, excluding vacations.

Teaching Materials

You will need to purchase your own headphones (not Bluetooth, but with cable). Bringing your own music is optional, as the instructor also provides hundreds of tracks.

Homework

Yes. Every week you should spend 15-20 minutes discovering or collecting music. If you have your own DJ set, practice at home what you learned in class.

Working Form

The course is primarily hands-on (80% practice, 20% theory). The instructor will introduce new techniques and skills each week, after which you will experiment independently. At the end of each lesson, you will share your progress and variations with the group.
