Workshop on improvisation by Jörg Brinkmann

Cellist Jörg Brinkmann is an international household name in jazz music and, because of his completely unique style and use of his instrument, a beloved musician in many different ensembles. Among other things, he is known from the famous trio Oliver's Cinema, together with trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and accordionist Tuur Florizoone, a trio that some time ago could also be heard in the church of Garnwerd and on the Summer Jazz Bicycle Tour. Also as part of the Zomer Jazz Fiets Tour, he performed together with clarinetist Claudio Puntin and bassist Johannes Fink with Trio Dolce Vita, with wonderful improvisations on the music of Nino Rota. He is also part of several other jazz formations, chamber orchestras, theater productions and is also regularly requested by pop artists. He has produced more than 15 CDs on well-known labels and performed at major international festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Honorine Schaeffer, born into a family of artists, began her cello studies at the conservatory of her hometown of Avignon at the age of six. After studying with Cyrille Tricoire at the Conservatoire de Montpellier, she began her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris, where she studied with Michel Strauss and Marc Coppey. She completed her master's studies with the highest distinction. In 2007 she won the prize for young talent of the Carl Flesch Akademie, in 2012 the first prize at the Lions European Musical Competition.
Honorine has always had a keen interest in symphonic music. She participated in the Académie de l'Orchestre de Paris (2008) and the Académie de l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (2009). In the 2012/13 season she participated in the Academy of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the following season in the Karajan Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker. At the age of 22, she was accepted at the Concertgebouw Orchestra, where she has been part of the cello group since August 2014.
Honorine Schaeffer plays a cello built in 1866 by Bernardel Père; her bow was crafted by her father, Christophe Schaeffer.

Workshop Preschoolers by Leonie Stevens, performance: The Little Indian

Leonie Stevens began her studies in cello at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and graduated cum laude from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In addition to chamber music, Leonie also plays with various Dutch orchestras. Leonie is a cello teacher at Platform C.

Master class by Ella van Poucke

Ella van Poucke, born in 1994 in Amsterdam, is one of the most promising young Dutch cellists today. She began playing the cello at the age of 6; four years later she was admitted to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
She then studied with Frans Helmerson at the prestigious Kronberg Acadey and with Gary Hoffman at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. Ella won many first prizes at national and international competitions, ranging from the Princess Christina Competition to the Isang Yun Cello Competition in South -Korea. A CD with the complete works of Schumann was released in 2021 and a new CD with all the works of Rachmaninov will be released soon. In 2012 at the Cello Biennale Amsterdam, Ella played the world premiere of the cello concerto by Finnish composer Uljas Pullkiss. She was also previously featured as a soloist with the Hello Cello Orchestra.
Ella van Poucke can also be heard during the Cello Biennale Amsterdam at Het Muziekgebouw, including Bach's 2nd Cello Suite and in The Cello Moves: Pohádka.
