Step by step conquering the cello

The cello is quite a large instrument, especially for a young student. Fortunately, there are also small cellos (eighth or quarter-size cellos) made especially for young cellists. We start with open strings. First, we learn to bow and produce a beautiful tone. Then we place the fingers of the left hand on the strings. Through musical games, we develop our sense of hearing and a feel for rhythm. That’s how we gradually master the cello. Meanwhile, we take our first steps toward reading sheet music and play our first real songs together with others. That sounds amazing!

This course is a good preparation for cello lessons (ages 7 and up).

After your registration is complete, the instructor will contact you about the class day and time. Grading is based on equal age and level.

Arrangements when money is tight

Free participation in ensembles

Making music together is great fun and very educational. You can do that with us in one of the many ensembles! There are ensembles for different instruments, levels and compositions. Are you following a year-long instrumental/vocal course at Platform C? Then participation in the ensembles is free, with the exception of the Project Orchestra: you can participate at a reduced rate. Your teacher will invite you and determine which ensemble suits you best. If you are not taking lessons yet, please make a choice from our lesson programme and apply.

If you enter later in the year, course fees will be prorated once placement is final.
