On Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m., the photo exhibition "Connected" will open at Platform C. The exhibition, made possible by KickASS (Amstelveen Subsidy Speeddates), features portraits of Ukrainians who have come to live in Amstelveen over the past two years.
One of the portraits from Charlotte Brand's exhibition.
A dissenting voice in times of polarization
In an era of increasing polarization, "Connected" aims to provide a counterpoint. The exhibition shows the human side of migration and emphasizes the value of connection. The photographs, taken by Charlotte Brand, show Ukrainians working hard to get their lives on track in the Netherlands. They go to school, work, play sports, volunteer and make friendships. The exhibition is an ode to their courage and optimism.
A glimpse into the future
"Connected" is more than a photo exhibition. It is an invitation to dialogue about migration and integration. The exhibition wants to show that Ukrainians are not only refugees, but also neighbors, friends and colleagues. They contribute to our society and deserve a warm welcome.
