Celebrate 60 Years of Amstelveen: Free workshops you don't want to miss!

From October 9 through 13, Culture Kick Amstelveen will take place. Nine cultural institutions open their doors for a week of performances, lectures, workshops and more around the theme ART MOVES. In celebration of Amstelveen's 60th anniversary, many activities are free. Check out culturekickamstelveen.nl for the full program.

Sports photography Oct. 11 and 12 (parents and guardians) 

This sports photography workshop is given at Hockey Association Myra by photographer Jasmijn Weenink and is designed especially for parents and caregivers. The workshop offers practical tips to capture sports moments. The workshop consists of two parts: on Friday evening Jasmijn shares her expertise and gives practical tips. After the theory lesson on Friday, on Saturday, October 12 (8:45 - 13:00) there will be a practical exercise during children's (8-10 years old) field hockey games, under Jasmijn's guidance.

Dance a soccer game Oct. 12 (children ages 5-9) 

In this playful workshop, children discover the surprising overlap between sports and dance. They learn how soccer moves can be turned into dance moves and how dance can bring new energy to soccer. Fun and creativity are key.

Stagefighting (children 10-16 years old) 

Always wanted to know how actors play realistic fight scenes without injuring each other? In this stagefighting workshop, you will learn safe and convincing stage fighting techniques. You will practice punches, evasions and work together to create spectacular fights. The focus is on technique, cooperation and safety so you can put on credible action scenes without risk. Perfect for anyone interested in theater or film looking for an exciting challenge!

Making stop motion movies (children 5-9 years old) 

In this creative workshop, children learn to create their own animated film using the stop-motion technique. Using simple materials, they create figures and scenes, then take step-by-step pictures to bring their story to life. The workshop encourages creativity, patience and cooperation. Together, the children create their own mini-adventures and watch their images merge into a real animated film!

Theater sports (children 13-18, adults 18+) 

In this workshop you will discover theatresports, a form of improvisational theater that focuses on cooperation and creativity. With fun and challenging theatrical sports games, you will learn to react quickly, think out-of-the-box and create hilarious, unexpected scenes together. The focus is on playfulness and spontaneity, making each scene unique. This workshop offers everyone a chance to let their hair down, develop new skills and most of all have fun!
