Platform C will launch a new round of “Art Through the Mailbox” in September. This creative project is designed for older adults in Amstelveen who enjoy engaging in art from home. Participation is free and can be done alone or with a partner, friend, or family member.
Getting Creative at Home
Every two weeks, participants receive a new art assignment at home. In total, they receive six assignments. The assignments encourage them to get creative—for example, by drawing, painting, doing crafts, or interpreting them in their own artistic way. No experience is necessary. With a pen, pencil, or simple materials that are often already at home, anyone can get started right away.
Personal attention
The assignments you’ve completed will be collected. For each assignment, you’ll receive personalized feedback on your work. Throughout the project, you’ll receive encouragement, tips, and inspiration for the next assignment. It’s not about right or wrong, but about having fun, exploring, and being creative. In addition, participants can take part in a free art workshop led by artist Stephanie Rhode during the project.
Let's wrap it up together
At the end of the project, participants will come together for a festive closing event in the form of a final exhibition featuring a selection of the artworks created. During this gathering, there will be an opportunity to share experiences, view each other’s work, and reflect together on the creative process.
