After the summer, a new academic year will begin at Platform C. It’s a great time to try something new, further your development, or make time again for something that brings you joy.

Would you like to make music, dance, act, get creative, or learn Dutch? At Platform C, you’ll find courses for children, teens, and adults. From introductory classes to more advanced courses: there’s plenty to choose from.

Music

At Platform C, you can get started with music at any age. For the youngest children, there is Music with babies and toddlers where they are introduced to music in a playful way. In the introductory instrument classes, children ages 4 to 6 learn the basics of instruments such as recordercello and transverse flute.

Older children, teenagers, and adults can also choose from a wide range of music lessons. For example: cello, accordion, recorder, clarinet, transverse flute, harp and more. In addition, there are DJ lessons for children and adults. There is also a course for children DJ and more, where they learn how to use a laptop or tablet to create cool beats, mix sounds, and add effects.

Making music together is an important part of Platform C. Anyone who enjoys playing or singing with others can join a ensemble, choir, or orchestra. Consider, for example, the Zonnestein Choir, the string quartet, the Adult Project Orchestra whether it Project Orchestra Harp. That way, you'll see how much fun it is to make music together.

Theater

For children and young people who love to play, use their imagination, and work together, Platform C offers an ongoing theater program.

Children in grades 4, 5, and 6 are introduced to the basics of theater. They learn how to create scenes, work together, use their voices and bodies, and enjoy being on stage. In the Course for 7th and 8th graders Theater skills are further developed.

There are also activities for young people. In Youth Theater 1, for 1st and 2nd-year high school students, you’ll learn how to act and discover all that theater has to offer. You’ll work together with others toward putting on a performance. In Youth Theatre 2, for students in 3rd grade and up, you'll continue working on acting, script analysis, ensemble work, and creating scenes.

Visual arts

In the world of visual arts, there’s plenty to discover again after the summer. New to the lineup is the introductory photography course. In this hands-on course, you'll learn to observe more closely, use your camera more effectively, and take better photos, step by step.

In the course sculpting you'll learn how to bring your ideas to life in wood, natural stone, or clay. You can also participate in making clothes for children ages 10 through 13 or at the sewing course for adults.

For children who love to draw, paint, and create, there are the Talent Classes. In the Drawing and painting talent class Children explore various techniques, materials, and topics. In the Talent class Letter drawing It's all about letters, illustrations, stencils, stamps, and typography. A great place for young creators to further develop their creativity.

Dance

For children, there are various dance classes that focus on fun, physical activity, and development. From kindergarten dance and ballet to kidsdance and jazz street dance: Children can discover which style suits them best and continue to develop at their own level.

There's also plenty to do for adults. In addition to Ballet for Beginnerssemi-advanced

and and advanced A new course will start after the summer Floorwork for Adults. In this course, you'll discover how to use the floor in your movements and work on technique, strength, flexibility, and expression.

Dutch

Would you like to learn Dutch or further improve your language skills? Platform C offers Dutch language courses at various levels, ranging from A0 through C1. The classes are designed for international students with a theoretical or academic background and help you better understand the language and use it with more confidence.

If you haven't learned Dutch yet and want to start at the A1 beginner level, you don't need to take an placement test and can join an A1 course right away. If you've taken Dutch classes before, you'll first take a intake. This way, we can determine which level is the best fit for you and ensure you start at the right place. Platform C during the renovation

The cultural strip on Stadsplein is being renovated. The Platform C building is also part of this renovation. As a result, there will soon be more space for classes, courses, and activities.

Our courses and activities will continue as usual. We’ll keep you informed on our website about the schedule, accessibility, and any practical changes. Check out the latest updates on our renovation page.
