"Art Through the Mailbox" Exhibition Showcases the Creativity of Older Adults

How do you visualize your favorite song? What do you see when you look out your window? And what can you create using things you already have at home? Participants in the “Art for the Mailbox” project have been exploring these questions over the past few months.

Art and Encounter

Every two weeks, participants received a new creative assignment at home. It was delivered in person by a volunteer. During these visits, there was also time to look at the work together, share ideas, and have a chat. In this way, “Art Through the Mailbox” not only brought art into people’s homes, but also fostered connections.

An Exhibition Full of Stories

The assignments helped participants see everyday things in a new light. They used different materials, tried out new techniques, and let their imaginations run wild.

The results were on display in an exhibition at Platform C. The works show just how much humor, care, imagination, and creativity the participants put into their assignments. Each work tells its own story.

New round in September

A new round of “Art Through the Mailbox” will begin in September. Participants can sign up again. New volunteers are also welcome. Would you like to learn more or sign up? Please contact Samuel Wennekes at samualwennekes@platform-c.nu.

This project was made possible by Platform C and the Lang Leve Kunst Fund.
